Wudi Temple

Maoming Wudi temple is located in Aotou market, Maonan District, Maoming City. It was first built in the second year of Wanli (1574), the fifty second year of Qianlong (1787), the eighth year of Guangxu (1882) and the second year of the Republic of China (1913). It has been rebuilt three times. Now it is in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty. It is a courtyard layout with a width of 38 meters, a depth of 26 meters and a building area of 988 square meters.

The main buildings are hard hilltops, mixed beam frame with lifting beam and crossing bucket, high ridge with grey carving, overhanging angle and overhanging eaves, powder wall and grey tile. The hall is supported by octagonal stone pillars, with relief figures, lions, fish, grass and insects in Liang Fang, and vivid landscape figures on the walls. Lintel and forehead of the main gate: "Temple of emperor Wenwu", right couplet: "article Lu Xing, filial piety and friends forever", left couplet: "loyalty and righteousness, a book for thousands of years", regular script, strong calligraphy. On the right wall of the temple gate, there is a "notice" stele on January 8, the 18th year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. The stele is 80cm long and 50cm wide, recording that the Qing Dynasty should "abide by the official rules" when handling cases, and "do not take the title of sedan chair, and do not help others privately." if you dare to violate it again, once you are interviewed or accused, you will be prosecuted and will not tolerate it. ". There are four granite stone steles on both sides of the hall, one of which was erected at the beginning of the construction, and the others record the historical facts of three renovations and the amount of donations. There is a huge ancient banyan tree in front of the temple with towering branches.
