Yanling Park

Yanling park is located in the north of Guangyuan Road, Shougouling, Tianhe City, Guangzhou City, and the northernmost end of the new central axis. The planning area extends to Dongguan Zhuang Road in the East, to the north of Guangzhou Shenzhen railway in the south, to Shaheyong in the west, to xinghuazhi street and Yanling building in the north. The total area of the park is 267000 square meters, which is half the size of liuhuahu park. The main body of the park is Yanling mountain, formerly known as "thin dog ridge", which is the afterblood of Baiyun Mountain.

Reconstruction of Yanling Park

In the process of transformation, the forestry and Landscape Department of Guangzhou unified the planning and construction of the area where Yanling mountain is located, restored the mountain forest ecological environment of Yanling mountain, built open park green space, and reshaped the landmark landscape of the starting point of the north section of the new urban central axis of Guangzhou.

According to the announcement issued by the Municipal Bureau of forestry and landscape architecture, 10 million yuan will be spent to build a viewing platform and square in the park. After the completion of Yanling Park, the landscape belt on the new central axis will be completely formed. Considering that if the park is completed at one time, the construction period will be too tight. The part of the construction will only cover an area of about 53000 square meters on the north side of the park. Before the Asian Games, about 7000 trees and shrubs will be planted here, and the lawn will be covered around. In the center of the lawn, a square with an area of about 4000 square meters will be built for citizens' leisure and entertainment.

New planning of Yanling Park

According to the project plan, in addition to the construction of Yanling Park, the urban construction department also plans to take advantage of the opportunity of upgrading the East Railway Station Square to build an overpass directly across Guangyuan East Road, connecting the east railway station and Yanling park. The overpass will be completed before the Asian Games, just like Yanling park. At that time, citizens can directly enter the park through the overpass, without crossing Guangyuan East Road.

There are three main scenic spots in Yanling park. Guangyuan express viaduct Road, yudongxi road and East Railway Station Square show the South and west of Yanling mountain, especially the landscape in the south of the mountain. The vegetation of Yanling mountain is mainly pine trees planted in the 1970s.

It is reported that the first phase of Yanling park has been completed, covering an area of about 97000 square meters, accounting for 36% of the total area, and the rest will be included in the second phase of the park.

Yanling Park in Guangzhou will initially complete the landscape project before September 30, and will be open to the public free of charge.
