Nansha Wetland Park

Nansha Wetland Park is located in the southernmost tip of Guangzhou City, between 18 Chong and 19 Chong of Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, on the West Bank of the Pearl River Estuary, with a total area of about 10000 mu. It is the largest wetland park in Guangzhou, one of the important resting places for migratory birds, and a good place to watch lotus flowers and leaves in summer.

Park Planning

Nansha Wetland scenic area is divided into two phases. The first phase covers an area of about 3400 mu, which is the core area of ecological protection, focusing on ecosystem scientific research and popular science education; the second phase covers an area of about 6000 mu, which is a comprehensive development eco-tourism area. It is a coastal wetland characteristic eco-tourism leisure area integrating ecological tourism, popular science education, cultural film and television, leisure and health.

Nansha Wetland scenic area has two major parts: the cruise area and the field walking area. The scenic area is still in the construction and conservation stage. According to the principle of ecological protection as the main part and moderate tourism development as the auxiliary part, the overall planning is being carried out. The project includes the core protection area, the comprehensive tourist area, the science exhibition area, the Agricultural Sightseeing Park, the leisure greenway and other scenic spots.

Nansha Wetland scenic area provides tourists with a variety of leisure facilities, including mangrove, reed marsh, lotus pool, bird nest and bird feeding area by boat, banyan greenway, sea view corridor, field walking area by sightseeing bus, bicycle or on foot. When you visit here, you can enjoy the artistic conception of "Qushui reed marsh, birds rest in mangroves, thousands of hectares of lotus color beauty, people and birds are happy to travel".

Spring: exploring bird's nest, trees and flowers

Every spring, in the season of recovery of all things, we take a boat to swim into the mangroves of Nansha Wetland. The mangroves blossom and bear fruit one after another, and birds nest in the trees to feed and sing. In the fragrance of birds and flowers, tourists are fascinated.

Summer: appreciating lotus leaves

There are thousands of acres of lotus in Nansha Wetland. The lotus swaying with the wind dances among the endless fields of lotus leaves. It is so beautiful that it forms an intoxicating scenery in summer. Lotus rhyme is long and fragrant, which makes people feel relaxed and happy and forget to return.

Autumn: the shadow of mangrove reed

In the golden autumn, the reed is dancing, and occasionally the reed leaves are rustling. The top of the reed highlights the elegant and full reed flowers. The wind dances the reeds, the waves gather the shadows, and the water birds live and breed in the reed marshes, play in the water, and fly in the sky

Winter: watching migratory birds

There are more than 30000 birds living in Nansha Wetland all year round, and more than 100000 migratory birds come to winter every year. From a distance, groups of migratory birds perch at the edge of the water and skim over the water. Cruise ships shuttle in the river, gulls and herons skim the water and fly, or hover low, vigorous and beautiful posture.

Xinken lotus root "Xinken lotus root" is one of the top ten agricultural brands in Guangzhou city. It is produced in Xinken area, Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou city. Because Xinken is located in the reclamation area of the Pearl River Estuary, the mud layer is thick, the water source is rich, the environment is clean, and the climate is suitable, the lotus root produced by Xinken is of good quality and unique flavor: the lotus root harvested in summer is tender, white and crisp, with sweet and fragrant flavor; the lotus root harvested in autumn and winter is plump and full-bodied, with rich flavor of daosong powder and lotus root fragrance.

Once upon a time, in Shawan Town, Panyu, Guangdong Province, an old woman had a cough. She later knew that ginger juice could cure her cough, but the ginger juice was too spicy for her to drink. Her daughter-in-law accidentally poured the milk into a bowl filled with ginger juice. Strangely, after a while, the milk coagulated, and her mother-in-law suddenly felt fragrant after drinking it. The next day, she was cured. Therefore, ginger bump milk spread in Shawan Town, forming a characteristic ginger bump milk. Because people in Shawan call "congealing" as "burying", so "Ginger bumping milk" is also called "Ginger burying milk" in Shawan.
