On October 7, 2019, Chengqian mansion was selected into the list of the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Historical evolution

Chengqian residence of Baiguoyuan is located at No.23 Baiguoyuan, Jiefang Road sub district office, Furong district, Changsha City. After liberation, Mr. Cheng Qian handed over the house to the Provincial Bureau of organ affairs. Hunan Grain Bureau arranges public rental housing as housing. Now the property right of the house belongs to Changfang group.

architectural style

The building area of the residence is 326.66 square meters. It is a two-story blue brick building with 14 rooms and all blue and white windows, showing the style of simplicity and elegance.

This is a two-story building in the style of the Republic of China, with red stone brick exterior wall and blue stone tile roof. It has a thick history in the downtown area. The plaque of "Changsha immovable cultural relics spot" issued by Changsha Municipal Bureau of cultural relics is hung on the wooden gate. Adhering to the principle of "repair the old as the old", the original appearance of Chengqian residence is basically preserved.

historical value

Cheng Qian is an important direct promoter of Hunan's peaceful liberation. Cheng Qian residence has high historical value and represents the typical style of Changsha residential buildings in the period of the Republic of China. In 2005, Chengqian mansion was listed by Changsha Municipal Government in the first batch of 23 historical old houses in the city. In January 2019, Chengqian mansion was recognized as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.

In November 2016, the Central Committee of the democratic revolution issued a notice, announcing that the Hunan Museum of peaceful liberation history (Chengqian mansion) will be named the education base of the party history of the democratic revolution.
