Located in xiwenmiaoping lane, Tianxin District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, it is a relic of the school palace of Changsha Government. It was built in 1866 when Li Hanzhang, governor of Hunan Province, repaired the school palace. After 1911, Changsha University palace was expropriated by the provincial government. In the 1930s, He Jian, chairman of the provincial government, held a large-scale ceremony here to worship Confucius. In 1938, the Academy was destroyed by the "Wenxi" fire. Today, only the "Daoguan ancient and modern" memorial archway is left.

Wenmiaoping archway is a four column, three double eaves and stone archway, which is located on the right side of the former Changsha University palace. The upper part of the forehead of the main gate is engraved with the word "Daoguan ancient and modern" and the back is embossed with the word "xianguan": the main gate is 3.02m high and 2.42M wide; the side gates on both sides are 2.28M high and 1.28M wide; the eaves on the first floor are 4.485m high and 6.49m high on the second floor, with a total height of 9.21m (calculated from the top of the column base), and the total width of the base is 6.64m. The cross section of the four columns is square and the size is 0.4 m square. All the components are made of stone from T-shaped Bay in Changsha. On the upper and lower sides of the main gate are carved "Erlong Xizhu" and "lion Hydrangea". On the other Fang and main ridge are carved with kylin and rolled grass. The two ends of the main ridge are dragon head, fish body and beast kissing. Under the eaves, there are carved boards. All the carving, knife delicate, exquisite workmanship, reflecting the superb technical level at that time. Xiwenmiaoping memorial archway is the only ancient memorial archway with complete preservation in Changsha. It is the witness of Changsha's famous historical and cultural city, and also the landmark building of the highest school in Changsha in the old time. The whole archway is thick, dignified and generous. It is a rare stone carving art with high artistic value and cultural relic value. On August 30, 2005, it was announced as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
