Sanbao Temple

Sanbao temple, also known as "Guihu Temple". It is located at the top of Guishan mountain, Chengguan, Fu'an City. According to the annals of Fu'an County written by Wanli of Ming Dynasty, "in the fifth year of Chunyou of Song Dynasty, county magistrate Zheng Yi created a lecture hall, and in the first year of emperor Qing of Yuan Dynasty, Bo Hulian built Guihu temple." There is an existing Daxiong hall, which was rebuilt in 1733, the 11th year of Yongzheng reign in the Ming Dynasty. It covers an area of about 305 square meters. It sits in the north and south, with three rooms wide and three rooms deep. The pillars are square and angular, of which eight have melon ridge patterns, which are the remains of the Song Dynasty. The upper eaves are high, the slope is very steep, and the lower eaves are long (1.8m). In 1990, it was completely repaired and well preserved. It was announced as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in October 1980.

Sanbao temple in Fuan, Fujian

Sanbao temple is located on an isolated hill on the Bank of Guihu Lake in the west of Fu'an City, Fujian Province. It is named after the original three giant statues of Tathagata in the main hall. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in 1608. The main hall, which was repaired in 1733, covers an area of 310 square meters. The gold pillars in the hall are relics of the Song Dynasty. The architectural style is simple and full of local characteristics.

Sanbao temple sits in the north and south, overlooking the surrounding mountains. The stone pagoda of Tianma mountain is towering in the south, corresponding to the stone pagoda of Xianyan mountain on the opposite side. The left East Mountain and the right Xianmian mountain have their own unique features. Between the two mountains, the Fuchun River is rippling with blue waves, and the fishing boats are faintly visible. The white horse statue on Tianma mountain and Heshan mountain on the East are soaring. Overlooking the panoramic view of Hancheng in the temple, the lake lingers back and looks like thousands of things. Whenever the sun goes down in the west, the rays reflect the water, red and green, brilliant and eye-catching. Night falls, the city lights, just like the Pearl, do not have a taste. Chen Shili, a native of the Ming Dynasty, once wrote a poem praising: "the Zen forest is a hidden wonder, and Luoge and tenglou are climbing every day. A tune of algae shaking water in Jingtang, thousands of fireworks embracing the isolated mountain. The old monk said that the dust was clean, and the fairies scattered flowers around Peishan. I also enter Shanshen Baoji, and the heavens send cranes to fly around at night. Hushan is located in one of the ten sceneries of Hanyang. In history, many eminent monks and great virtues worshipped their teachers and learned Taoism, and many people with lofty ideals studied and gathered their righteousness here.

In 1989, master Jinghui, who was nearly 60 years old, made a great effort to rebuild the Sanbao temple. After going through hardships, he invested more than one million yuan and spent ten years to recreate the historical features of the temple. Now, six buildings, including Daxiong hall and Weituo Pavilion, have been built. In the temple, there are four meter high Sanbao Buddha and all copper 2.6 meter Bodhisattva sitting statues, which are designated as municipal protection units by the government.

Sanbao temple, with its convenient transportation, beautiful environment and magnificent temple, attracts believers and tourists from far and near. The Buddhist Association of Ningde and Fu'an City is located here. There are more than 20 monks. They are provided by morning bell and evening tower at two o'clock.

At present, master Jinghui, the abbot, is also the president of Fujian Ningde Buddhist Association and Fuan Buddhist Association.

Since December 2009, there has been a dispute about the preservation of the ancient temple, but the incense of Sanbao temple has never been stopped, and the affairs of the temple have been managed by several residents. At the beginning of January 2013, some citizens reported that the original residents of Sanbao temple had left, and the ancient temple might still be demolished.

The reporter found that a large area of open space in the north of the ancient temple has been enclosed for development, and several 20 - and 30 storey buildings in the South and west of the temple have been built. Through the locked door of the temple, you can see several Buddha statues still standing inside.

The reporter then interviewed Lixia District Culture Bureau on this matter. "Because of its long history, this ancient temple has been listed in the list of cultural relics and is a protected historic site." A staff member of the Cultural Bureau told reporters that before the demolition of yaojiazhuang, the archaeological Department handed in protection opinions.
