Shandan township is located 5 kilometers west of Wushan County, between the intersection of Shandan River and Weihe River. There are 27 village committees, 79 villager groups, 5281 households and 24968 people. The total cultivated land area is 37032 mu, including 4841 mu of water land and 32191 mu of mountain land. The per capita area is 1.5 mu, and the per capita net income is 1096 yuan.

Rich in water resources, known as the "hometown of vegetables" reputation, vegetable area of 3500 mu, annual output value of more than 12.5 million yuan. Rich Yuanyang jade mineral resources are the strong backing for the development of "jade town". There are 260 jade processing households with an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan. Chejiachuan has become a professional jade processing village. The construction industry is developing rapidly. Shandan township is located in the west of Wushan County, adjacent to Chengguan town in the East, Yuanyang town and guangwupo town in the west, tangge town and Malili town in the south, and yupan Township in the north. It is 11 kilometers wide from east to west, 17.2 kilometers long from north to south, and covers an area of 117.13 square kilometers. The terrain is high in the north and South and low in the middle, with an altitude of 1490m to 2326m. Shandan River and Weihe River cross the border. There are abundant water resources in the source areas of rivers and rivers. Tianding expressway, Baolan double line, national highway 316, Hetan County Road, Weibei Road, Xiliang Road, Dongliang Township Road and village roads connecting all villages form a traffic network extending in all directions.
