Foshan cemetery is known as "the cemetery of common people" in Xishan cemetery, because it is not like Wan'an and Futian cemeteries where celebrities gather. There are only a few celebrities buried here, such as Huang Jiqing, a geographer, Li Wanchun, a Peking Opera master, you Guoen, a literary historian, and Wang Xiaobo, a writer.
It is said that Li Yinhe found several cemeteries for Wang Xiaobo in Beijing, but the horizontal and vertical arrangement of tombstones made her dissatisfied. She felt that they did not conform to Xiaobo's personality. If she doesn't want to leave it at home, or find a chance to let it go. Later, a friend introduced Foshan cemetery and said that there were natural big stones on the mountain. Li Yinhe directly chose a natural stone with the five characters "Tomb of Wang Xiaobo" and the year of his birth and death engraved on it. A hole was dug under it to put the urn in. Everything was very simple. It only cost 6000 yuan to make this tomb.
In front of Wang Xiaobo's tomb, flowers, cigarettes and wine have never been cut off. Women gather flowers and hold them in their hands; men bring cigarettes and wine just to get drunk. For ten years, it's almost a ritual.
