Taolai River Canyon

Taolai River belongs to Heihe River system. Its original name is "hucanshui", which means heaven's reward, also known as "Beidahe". It originates from Qilian Mountain and flows through Jiayuguan for about 35 kilometers. The middle and upper reaches of the river are scoured by the river for a long time. The riverbed is widening or sinking year by year, forming a grand canyon with a depth ranging from 50 meters to 800 meters. The terrain is very dangerous.

Traffic information: it is located in the first pier scenic spot of the great wall 7 km south of Jiayuguan City. You can only charter a car to the scenic spot. It costs 150-180 yuan for Guancheng, cantilever great wall and the first pier of the Great Wall, and 50 yuan for a single scenic spot.
