Old house of Jiao family

Jiao's old house is located at 57 Xiangyang lane, yangshe Town, 50 meters east of Shazhou primary school and northwest of dongcaichang. It is a typical Jiangnan residence. The whole building faces south, with 4 entrances along the central axis and 5 entrances each. The first three are bungalows, which were built in the early Republic of China. They are composed of hall, main hall and main house. The last one is a two-story brick building built during the Anti Japanese war. The whole house covers an area of about 600 square meters, with a small construction area, but with reasonable layout and rich characteristics. It is the most complete existing old residential building in the city. It was listed as the cultural relic protection unit of Zhangjiagang City in 2002.
