Nanfeng tower

Nanfeng tower is located on Nanfeng mountain 300 meters south of Xianju County. It was built by Guo Yongzhong in the tenth year of Tiansheng (1032) to the second year of Mingdao (1033) in the Northern Song Dynasty. It has six sides and seven floors. It is a hollow brick tower imitating the attic style. It is 23.8 meters in height and 2.07 meters in width on each side of the plinth. Each floor is composed of a flat seat, a front body and a waist eaves. The inner wall is cut from bottom to top to form a foot nest for climbing. The south-east and north-west sides of the gate, the other four sides of the gate type niches.

The top of the tower is folded with flat bricks to close the top. The top of the tower is in the form of a vase. It was rebuilt in 1984.

In 2013, it passed the fifth batch of national cultural relics protection units. It is one of the important witness to study tower architecture in South China.
