Moon pool

Guanhai temple in Wutai Mountain, also known as mingyuechi, was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is an ancient temple with a long history in Wutai Mountain. There is a small pool in Guanhai temple, which is rectangular. The water is transparent and clear. According to records in Qingliang mountain records, someone once saw a bright moon in the pool on a dark night. People thought that the Bodhisattva appeared, so Guanhai temple was gradually renamed Mingyue pool. From the back hall to the West Wing room, visitors can enjoy the moon pool. The edge of the pool is round. There is a spring seeping from a small hole in the center of the pool. Looking down from the front, it looks like a round mirror. When the rain season, groundwater rise, full pool clear jade liquid, can reflect the moon in the pool. Every year during the June meeting, some devout Buddhists come to drink "Buddha water" by the pool. When they leave, they will take some back to relieve the disaster.

The Vajra Bodhisattva in the main hall of the temple has a peculiar shape. He has a black face and a black body. He is tall, with his right foot on the ground, his left leg bent up and his foot on the wheel of wind and fire. He is the only black Bodhisattva in Wutai Mountain.
