Heihe Grand Canyon

Heihe Grand Canyon is located in huangzang village, Qilian County, about 20 kilometers away from Babao town. The canyon is more than 800 kilometers long, with an average altitude of more than 4200 meters, of which 70 kilometers are "no man's land". From the west, the Heihe River and babaohe River confluence head-on, suddenly turn to the north, cut off the Qilian Mountains, and flow towards Zhangye, forming a steep Heihe Grand Canyon. Heihe Grand Canyon is the third largest canyon scenic spot in the world. It has rich colors and is hidden in deep mountains. There are few tourists, so it is loved by photography lovers.

Heihe Grand Canyon, with a total length of more than 800 kilometers, has an average altitude of more than 4200 meters, of which 70 kilometers are "no man's land". There are 800 glaciers in the canyon, covering an area of more than 300 square kilometers. Heihe River is the second largest inland river in China. It flows through Qinghai, Gansu and Inner Mongolia. It is known as the "mother river of Hexi Corridor".

With the unique geographical conditions and climatic factors, the plateau animal and plant resources in Heihe Grand Canyon are extremely rich, which is an ideal place for tourism and exploration.

Ma Xiuqin, deputy head of Qilian County in Qinghai Province, said that due to insufficient investment and other reasons, the characteristic tourism of Heihe Grand Canyon has not been well developed. In order to build this area into a key tourist attraction of Qilian Mountain, the local government plans to introduce investment to develop the characteristic tourism construction project of Heihe Grand Canyon, including water rafting. Domestic and foreign tourists will soon experience the mysterious and unique plateau natural scenery in the deep of the canyon and listen to the melodious Qilian pastoral songs.

Traffic information: at present, there is no public transport. It is recommended to drive or charter a car.

Self driving: start from Babao Town, go up to erga line (i.e. provincial highway 204) in the northwest, drive about 20 km and then enter the canyon area. If it happens to be rainy season, the road is wet and slippery, and the road is tortuous, you should drive carefully.

Chartered bus: the canyon is a must pass place of Bayi glacier. The price of Chartered bus is 300-400 yuan. You can visit Qilian deer farm and amidongsuo scenic spot together.
