Shiding old street

Shiding is located at the intersection of shidingxi and Wutu. It began to develop very early. In the past, it started from planting Baozhong tea. It is also the distribution center of tea in Pinglin, Shenkeng and Shuangxi. Since the opening of Beiyi highway, shiding's position has been replaced by Pinglin. In the old shiding street, the Wanshou bridge built by stone piers divides the East and west streets. The West Street developed earlier, and most of the houses are Tujue houses with very high height. There are three stories of houses connected, which shows the prosperity of that year. The East Street used to be a gathering place for beggars, known as "beggar's house". At present, the population proportion of East Street is increasing, and West Street is gradually replacing the former West Street, which is the most prosperous place in Shiding district.

Han people who came here to cultivate in the early years saw the rock bed as big as the bottom stone of the gate, so they called it "shiding" here. Another way of saying is that after tracing the river to this place in those years, the rope was often tied to the big stone, so it was called the stone anchorage. No matter what you say, it highlights the unique natural style of shiding, and the characteristics of the terrain are also reflected in the ancient Diaojiao building of the old street.

Take the bus

Take Xinxin passenger transport 666 Beiding line, Xikou primary school → Shixin University → Wenshan administrative center → southeast Institute of technology → Shenkeng primary school → Shuangxikou → Shiding district office. By MRT, you can take Tanshui Xindian line at Jingmei station, or Mucha line at Mucha station, and transfer to Xinxin passenger 666 Beiding line.

Traffic information: from exit 2 of Jingmei station of Taipei MRT, go to the bus stop in front of Jingxing park on the opposite side of the street; or after leaving Mucha station of Taipei MRT, go to the bus stop in front of "Chairman breakfast" on the opposite side of Mucha Road, and take bus No. 666 of Taipei City (to the emperor's palace or Wutu cave) to shiding station.

Opening hours: 24 hours, but most stores are open until 8-9 PM.

The opening hours of the Tourism Service Center (located in the Danlan art and Culture Museum in shiding) are from 09:00 to 17:00. It is closed on Mondays and national holidays.
