historical origin

In May 1917, Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist in China at that time, and Zhou Fujiu, a heavyweight in Shanghai industrial circles, initiated the construction of Dafeng company, the largest salt reclamation company in Huainan, to cultivate cotton, which laid the foundation for the history of salt reclamation in Xinfeng. In 1918, Dafeng company began to plan the construction of Xinfeng Town, known as Beizhen, which was the first market town in Dafeng reclamation area at that time. In 1919, Zhang Jian hired young water conservancy expert trek from Holland, which has the most experience and advanced technology in reclaiming land from the sea and improving saline soil in the world, to plan farmland water conservancy projects in Xinfeng, and established four level drainage and irrigation systems of District, Kuang, Pai and Tiao.
