Yuci Confucian Temple

Yuci Confucian temple, founded in the second year of Xianping (999), is one of the oldest existing buildings in Yuci, covering an area of 23000 square meters, including a construction area of 6000 square meters. After more than 900 years of expansion and repair in Jin, yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China, this ancient cross era building was formed.

Yuci Confucian Temple

Yuci Confucian temple, on the north side of Longwangmiao street in Yuci City, is the oldest existing building in Yuci. It was built by Gong Fu, the county magistrate in the second year of Xianping (A.D. 999) of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was repaired repeatedly in the Jin, yuan, Ming, Qing and the Republic of China. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Confucius Temple covered an area of 27.7 square meters from renjiaxiang in the north, Longwangmiao street in the south, kuilouyuan in the East and shepu in the West It is 19.4 feet wide from east to west and covers an area of about 8.8 mu. In the eighth year of the Republic of China, he bought old houses on the west side of the Confucian temple, built a platform for planting apricots, surrounded by flower walls, and made plaques by imitating the seal characters on the plaques on the apricot altar in Qufu, Shandong Province.

Construction situation

Yuci Confucian temple is one of the largest ancient temples in Yuci City, especially Dacheng hall. Minglun hall, Jingyi Pavilion, Zunjing Pavilion, halberd gate and Lingxing gate in front of them are all built with overlapping brackets and high eaves. It has always been the residence of the highest school in Yuci. Unfortunately, since the cultural revolution, it has been demolished one after another, leaving only a small part of Ming Dynasty buildings before Jimen.

In 2004, Yuci District restored and rebuilt the Yuci Confucian temple. The restored Confucian temple mainly includes Yingbi, shipailou, guojiemufang, lingxingmen, panchi bridge, Zhuangyuan bridge, dachengmen, Minghuan temple, Xiangxian temple, shenchuo, zhaisuo, Dacheng hall, Minglun hall, Jingyi Pavilion, Zunjing Pavilion, dongxixuegong, langwu, etc., covering an area of 23000 square meters, of which the building area is 6 000 square meters. Dacheng hall is the central building of the Confucian temple, with nine rooms in width and five rooms in depth. There are statues of Confucius, the founder of Confucius, on both sides of which are statues of Yan Hui, Zeng Shen, Kong still, Meng Ke and other Confucian representatives.

Details

The Confucian temple was first built in the second year of Chengping of the Song Dynasty, and has been repaired since then. The existing buildings are the remains of the Ming Dynasty. Only Lingxing gate, panchi, Zhuangyuan bridge and Dacheng gate were left in the original Confucian temple. The building is dilapidated and the yard is full of rubbish. In 2004, it was rebuilt and the Dacheng hall was rebuilt. The gate of Confucian temple is "Lingxing gate". Lingxing gate stands on the brick platform, is a four column three door wooden archway, green glazed tile three water rest peak. The dense layers of brackets dazzle people. The front of the gate is inscribed with the word "Lingxing gate". There is a pan pool behind the Lingxing gate. On the pan pool, there is a stone bridge called Zhuangyuan bridge. After Zhuangyuan bridge, there is dachengmen. Behind the Dacheng hall is the Ming Lun hall, which is five rooms wide. It is based on Mencius: "learning is the same for three generations, and all of them are Ming Ren Lun". Now it is the exhibition of Confucius' life. There are also Jingyi Pavilion, Zunjing Pavilion, east west school palace and other buildings. The area of panchi is very small, so dachengmen is very close to lingxingmen, so there is no way to take a panoramic view of dachengmen. Dacheng's facade is five rooms wide and six rafters deep. It stands on the top of the mountain with glazed tiles and single eaves. Under the eaves, there is a vertical plaque inscribed "dachengmen", and couplets are hung on the door posts, which reads "foresight, for the eternal ethics; sincerity and holiness, with the same flow of the two meritorious.". This is a copy from the couplet of Dacheng gate of Qufu Confucius Temple. The original couplet was written by Emperor Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty. On the front platform stands the main hall of the Confucian temple, Dacheng hall. Dacheng hall is nine rooms wide, with double eaves resting on the top of the mountain.
