Historical evolution

On April 10, 1938, Lu Xun Art Institute was founded in Yan'an. Comrade Mao Zedong personally wrote the name of the college and the motto of "being nervous, serious, hardworking and modest", and inscribed "Anti Japanese realism and revolutionary romanticism".

In 1946, Lu Xun Art College moved to Qiqihar, Jiamusi, Harbin and Shenyang.

In 1949, the school was renamed the Northeast Lu Xun College of literature and art.

In 1953, based on the Ministry of fine arts, northeast Academy of fine arts was established in Nanhu, Shenyang.

In 1958, Shenyang Normal University (Art Part) was merged into northeast art college.

In 1958, the school developed into Lu Xun Academy of fine arts.

In 1983, the school industrial design laboratory was established.

In 1988, the school established the Department of industrial design on the basis of industrial modeling design.

In 1997, the University established the art and Culture Research Center, a graduate teaching and research institution. The Department of dyeing and weaving clothing art and design was established by merging the former Department of dyeing and weaving design with the Department of fashion design.

In 1998, Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for the College: "carry forward the tradition of Lu art, cultivate artistic talents, and prosper the socialist cultural cause.".

In 1999, it was selected into the first batch of national college students' cultural quality education bases.

At the beginning of 2001, the school separated the major of fine arts from the basic teaching of public courses and established the Department of art history and theory.

In 2004, the Department of cultural communication and management was established.

In 2007, the school's cultural industry management discipline was identified as the characteristic discipline of "the key construction discipline of philosophy and Social Sciences in the whole province" by the Publicity Department of Liaoning provincial Party committee.

In 2010, the industrial design experimental teaching center of the University was determined as the construction unit of "national experimental teaching demonstration center" by the Ministry of education.

In 2013, Lu media animation college was established on the basis of animation major.

In December 2014, the school's "Liaoning public culture construction research base" was approved by Liaoning Provincial Department of education and Liaoning Provincial Federation of social science circles as Liaoning regional development strategy research base.

In 2017, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts established the College of Chinese painting to prepare for the construction of painting and calligraphy appreciation and restoration major; established the College of architectural art design to prepare for the construction of architectural art design major.

In the same year, it was selected as one of the top universities in Liaoning Province.

There are professional library, social science library, periodical reading room, multimedia reading room, special collection reading room, picture book reading room, sample reading room and reference room. Academic journals

Art work, formerly known as "Meiyuan", is a large bimonthly professional academic journal of fine arts. It has been awarded the titles of "Liaoning Provincial first-class journal", "national Chinese core journal", "Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences core journal", "Chinese art core journal", "Chinese CSSCI Journal (Extended Edition)" and "national excellent social sciences journal of colleges and universities". It is the only art core journal in Northeast China . In 2014, it was listed in the extended edition of CSSCI China Social Science Citation Index (2014-2015).
