Development history

In order to further protect the unique wetland resources, show and publicize the wetland culture and popular science knowledge to the society, Saihanba Forest Farm carried out the comprehensive protection project of Qixing Lake Wetland in 2007, restored its original natural appearance, invested huge funds in scientific development and utilization, and built a unique wetland park. In late July, Saihanba Qixing Lake Wetland Park was officially opened to the public.

According to the research of experts from Chinese Academy of forestry, the wetland resources of Saihanba forest farm are very rich and have unique protection and ornamental value. Saihanba wetland, especially at an altitude of about 1500 meters, belongs to a unique type of Alpine river source wetland. The plant community is very rich, including aquatic plant community, swamp plant community, meadow plant community, forest plant community and grassland plant community. It has a complete aquatic ecological sequence, integrating forest, grassland, meadow, swamp and water body, and is widely distributed The important ornamental plants are Rhododendron fortunei, Pennisetum bungeanum, Ipomoea bulbus, Lysimachia japonica, Trollius chinensis, Stellera chamaejasme, etc. According to the records, the wetland is common at 3000 meters above sea level, but it is rare at 1500 meters above sea level, which is of great scientific research and ornamental value. Saihanba Qixing Lake wetland is one of the typical representative.

The reconstructed Qixing Lake pseudorattus grass Wetland Park is located about 2.5km northwest of Saihanba mechanical forest farm. Within the 1 million square meter wetland area surrounded by mountains, there are seven natural lakes of different sizes and shapes. The sky overlooks the Big Dipper, which is the name of Qixing lake. The newly built park has nearly 5000 meters of wooden plank road, 8 viewing platforms, 2 cruise ship docks and 4 wooden bridges. The spacious entrance platform of more than 1200 square meters and the entrance landscape wall made of natural bluestone slabs without joints highlight the rugged characteristics. The landscape wall is inlaid with the words "Seven Star Lake false rat grass Wetland Park" in titanium. The natural stone and highly industrialized titanium materials form a sharp contrast and set off each other. The decorative windmills and wooden pavilions for visitors make the whole park fresh and elegant, which not only has the traces of artificial carving, but also appears natural, simple and harmonious. The first phase investment of the park is nearly 5 million yuan, and the second phase investment is planned to be more than 5 million yuan. After 2-3 years, the park will be built into a first-class ecological scenic spot.
