Hokke-ji

Fahua temple in Datong City is located in the north of Heyang street in Datong City. It is the only existing burying Lama Pagoda in Datong City. It is named after a Dharma Sutra in the pagoda. The whole temple building is high and low, left and right symmetrical, and the statue is vivid and vivid. Murals are rich in color and numerous in character. There are strong characteristics of multi-ethnic integration and foreign color combination.

Hokke-ji

Fahuasi is located in fahuasi street, Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Kangxi and Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. It is one of the great temples in Nancheng, Beijing.

Fahua temple has a mountain gate, a three story hall, and East and west side halls.

Brief introduction to temples

The gate of fahua temple is built on the top of the mountain with three gaps. The lattice window is between the two times of the gate. There is a plaque "Daxing fahua Temple" on the main gate. After three into the hall are three wide bay, and front porch. The East and west side halls also have three bays.

In the Qing Dynasty, the area around fahua temple was the place where eight banners were stationed, which was called barracks. Shunzhi eighteen years (1661) to set up Zhenglan Banner church. During the period of the Republic of China, most of them had been turned into temporary spiritual rooms. At present, there are no bell tower and Drum Tower, only the mountain gate, three entrance hall and some rooms.

Current situation of ancient temples

Fahua temple is a folk house and a clothing company. Permission is required to visit it. It is not recommended to visit. The temple is a temporary protection unit in Chongwen District, located in chongwai No. 6 demolition site. There is a demolition plan, but the time is not clear.

Layout structure

There are three mountain gates with big style hard Hill tiles hooping the ridge. There is a brick plaque on the forehead: "chici fahua Zen forest". The East and West doors are Xieshan tiles top. The Tianwang hall, Niangniang hall and Yaowang hall are hard Hill tiles top ridge. The bell drum tower is Xieshan tiles top ridge. The main hall is five verandah roof. There are brick carved Phoenix and lotus on the main ridge. There are five stepped arch and three caisson in the middle On both sides are painted dragons.

A wooden plaque of "huizhao dengqing" is hung in the middle of the back wall of the hall, and a couplet is on the gold pillar: "if the Tathagata does not come, it means that the Buddha came early and I came late. It's nonsense." "the original consciousness is not aware, but the nature is aware of the truth, and the punishment is all in being a person." it is the second time that the great famine happened in the seventh year of Guangxu. There is a wooden plaque on the lintel of the outer eaves of Mingjian, which is called "Da Xiong Bao Dian".

Eaves column couplet

The couplet on the eaves and pillars of the Ming Dynasty: "the fragrance is full of sandalwood" and "the emergence of lotus is nothing but the light of Baoluo". The East and west side halls include Jialan hall, zushi hall, moxin hall and Chuantang hall, each with six rooms. There are hard hills, tile hoops, and front porches. There are five Pilu halls, with double eaves and veranda, three grey tiles and three back buildings. The top of the hall is cut with yellow glaze. On the main ridge of the hall, there are two dragon and Pearl figures carved in brick, and "good weather" and "peace of the country and the people".

In the Ming Dynasty, a horizontal wooden plaque was inscribed with "Hongshi magic method". Under the upper eaves, there is a wooden plaque of "Pilu hall". There are three East and three West halls respectively. There is a hard hill with a tile top. The main ridge is carved with cranes and lotus flowers. The inside of the hall is made by the Ming Dynasty. There are seven Sutra collection pavilions and five pavilions in front. The pavilions are big style hard mountains, big ridges, and three East and west side halls. Now, most of the buildings and decorations of fahua temple have disappeared. Tourists are not recommended to visit.
