Pok Bian Chau is a place in Hong Kong. It is located on the east coast of Liang Chuan Wan sea in the new territories, along the east dam of the Wan Yi reservoir. It is famous for its hexagonal stone pillars.
During the Jurassic period, more than 100 million years ago, there were many volcanic explosions in Hong Kong, which spewed out a lot of lava and volcanic ash. After the volcanic ash sprayed to the crater cools, it becomes a stone pillar with hexagonal section. The structure is about 200 meters long, 100 meters wide and 63 meters high.
The same geological structure can be found in the area of Guozhou islands in Hong Kong.
