Songyuan primeval forest park

Songyuan primeval forest park, located in Mohe County, Heilongjiang Province, is a rare primeval forest in Northeast China. Its existence makes people feel a close natural beauty, and it is also an ideal place to purify urban air. In 1987, a big fire destroyed more than 100 hectares of forest and trees in Daxing'anling. However, Songyuan survived without any damage. Therefore, this forest is regarded as a magical land and has been paid attention to.

Songyuan primeval forest park is located in 16 districts of Mohe County. When the county was first built in 1971, a primeval forest was reserved in the center of the county for visitors to watch and purify the atmosphere of the city. It was built as Songyuan Park in 1983.

The park is 282 meters long from east to west and 182 meters wide from north to south. The total forest volume in the park is 400 cubic meters, and the main tree species is larch forest. Azalea in Xing'an, commonly known as dazixiang, is also known as manshanhong and YINGSHANHONG. This kind of plant only grows in high latitude and cold regions. It blooms in May every spring. Every time it blooms, the park becomes a sea of flowers, with green trees and red flowers.

There are two gates in the East and west of the park. The west gate is the main gate. There is the inscription "Songyuan" written by Chen Lei, the former governor of Heilongjiang Province. There are many painted murals on both sides. The whole park is covered with trees and flowers. There are forest paths and stone tables and chairs in the park. It is one of the few virgin forest parks in the city in China.

When the fire broke out on May 6, 1987, Songyuan Park miraculously escaped from the fire disaster, which everyone called strange. Because there were mosques, latrines, cemeteries and other places in Mohe, it was concluded that: Songyuan did not burn, because of the auspicious place, the fire devil could not bear it; mosques did not burn, because of the authority of Allah, the fire devil did not dare; latrines did not burn, because of the filthy place, the fire devil disdained; cemeteries did not burn, because of the same ghost, Fire devil doesn't make it. There is a marble tablet named "Song Yuan Ji" in the park to record this.
