Science and Art Center of Xiamen University

The center was named "Hanming building" to forever remember the donation of Hanming Education Science Foundation. In April 2006, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Xiamen University, when participating in alumni activities, Xiao Enming, the founder of the foundation and the 86th graduate of the International Trade Department of Xiamen University, learned that his alma mater was going to build a science and Art Center, and decided to donate 30 million yuan generously to fund the construction of the center. He hopes to give back to his alma mater and provide a stage for his alma mater's scientific and artistic achievements. At the same time, he also encourages more Xiamen University alumni to carry forward the spirit of Jiageng and keep in mind the motto of "self-improvement and perfection", so as to make greater contributions to the country, the society and the school.

Introduction to science and Art Center

The science and Art Center project of Xiamen University consists of four floors, including three floors above the ground and one floor underground. The construction area is nearly 19000 square meters, and the total investment is about 80 million yuan. The project will be completed in August 2007. The center has 915 large lecture halls, as well as a digital cinema hall, a 508 seat concert hall and a large exhibition hall of about 2000 square meters. At present, the construction of the project has entered the substantive operation stage.

All along, Xiamen University hopes to build a large and medium-sized academic reporting place and culture and art exhibition center to meet the needs of internationalization and high-level education of the University. After careful investigation, the university decided to build a new "science and Art Center of Xiamen University" on the plot of the original erudite second teaching building by the Hunan bank of Furong.

Business operation

After the completion of the science and Art Center, it is not open to students and colleges. Instead, it is directly managed by the logistics group of Xiamen University. All student organizations and colleges need to pay for the use of the center, just like inside and outside the school! It is understood that the use of science and Art Center Concert Hall needs 6300 yuan, the use of science and Art Center lecture hall needs more than 10000 yuan!
