Yiwu martyrs cemetery was built for the revolutionary martyrs who died bravely in the "Yiwu 40 day defense war". The main buildings of the martyrs' cemetery include monument, martyrs' tomb, Yingling pagoda, memorial hall and Yiwu achievement exhibition room, which together with Shengli peak and military horse statue constitute the red series of revolutionary traditional education.

The cemetery was built in October 1978. The iron gate opens to the north. Above the gate, the four characters "martyr cemetery" stand in parallel. On the stone pillars on both sides of the main gate, gold couplets are carved in Uyghur and Chinese, respectively, with the words "heroic spirit permeates the rainbow, and the glory shines on the hearts of future generations". The cemetery is 110 meters wide from east to west and 160 meters long from north to south, forming a trapezoid shape to show the view of future generations. In the cemetery, the monument of Yiwu forty days guard station stands in the middle, facing the gate. The monument is divided into monument base and main body, with brick concrete structure. The base of the monument is decorated with pink and grass-green water brush stone, which is 4 meters high and divided into four layers. Each floor is 1 meter high, the main body is 10 meters high and 2 meters wide. The section is square and decorated with white stones. The top of the stele is decorated with iron red five stars, 2 meters in diameter, and the stele is hollow.

The monument is located in the center of the cemetery. The height of the monument is 10 meters, the width is 2 meters, and the cross section is square. The top of the monument is inlaid with shining iron red five stars. On the front of the monument is engraved with a golden inscription "the martyrs who died bravely in Yiwu's 40 day defense war will never die". The monument is tall, straight and solemn. Yingling pagoda is a Pentagon with a height of 19.50 meters. There are 40 niches and 40 wind bells on the body of the pagoda. The whole pagoda has a unique shape. The body of the pagoda is tall, antique and long-lasting.

The overall style design of the martyrs' cemetery is unique. The 55 layers of marble steps at the entrance immediately make visitors feel awe and reverie. In the park, the pines are as thick as the grass, the poplar is as thick as the clouds, the green grass is as thick as the grass, the flowers are blooming, and the flowers are colorful. It is really a green park for people to remember and visit the martyrs.

In the garden, the pines and willows are green and the flowers are blooming in summer. In the south of the monument, there are 32 tombs of the martyrs. In front of each tombstone, there are marble tombstones with the names of the martyrs engraved on them and the lives of the martyrs engraved on their backs. In the face of the 32 tombs of martyrs in order, it is necessary to cherish the memory of the heroic deeds of martyrs who fought and died bravely in those years.

In 1995, Yiwu martyrs cemetery was named "patriotic education base" by the Department of civil affairs of the autonomous region.

On April 30, 2001, it was approved by the State Council as the fourth batch of national key martyr memorial building protection units; in November of the same year, it was named the youth patriotic education base at the autonomous region level by the Communist Youth League Autonomous Regional Committee.

In December 2008, it was named as the patriotic education base of the autonomous region by the Propaganda Department of the Party committee of the autonomous region.

In May 2010, it was named as the national defense education demonstration base of Xinjiang Autonomous Region by the Propaganda Department of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the Political Department of Xinjiang Military Region and the National Defense Education Office of Xinjiang Autonomous Region.

The martyrs cemetery has been identified as the "red tourism base" in Yiwu County, one of the top ten tourist attractions (spots) in Hami region, and a national 3A level tourist attraction.
