West Lake Park

West Lake Park is located in the northwest of Quanzhou City, close to Qingyuan mountain, a national scenic spot, with a total area of 100 hectares, water area of 82.28 hectares and land area of 17.72 hectares. It has won many international and domestic awards for its beautiful scenery and good governance effect.

Since June 1996, it has invested 170 million yuan for more than two years to build the West Lake Park, which is composed of three famous bridges, three water areas and four islands. The West Lake covers an area of 100 hectares, including 82.28 hectares of water area, 1.72 hectares of square roads, 16 hectares of green space, and more than 200 tree species.

It is located at the south foot of Qingyuan mountain in the northwest of Quanzhou City, close to the national scenic spot Qingyuan mountain. Since 1999, Quanzhou Municipal government has invested 230 million yuan to build a flood detention and drainage project in the northwest area of the urban area, and an urban park composed of seven scenic spots, namely "wind rises and flies", "far peak and near moon", "Erythrina Twin Towers", "ancient city range Rover", "Qingyuan evening bell", "double island Heron song" and "Yuqiao hese".

The park covers a total area of 100 hectares, including land area of 17.72 hectares and water area of 82.28 hectares. It is the largest artificial lake in Fujian Province. The whole garden consists of four islands, three bridges, three long dikes and three water areas. The four islands are Fenglin Island (Central Island), Taohua Island, ecological island and Huaguo island. The three bridges are 21 hole bridge (imitating the 17 hole bridge of the summer palace in Beijing), single hole bridge (imitating the jade belt bridge of Wujiang River) and five hole bridge (imitating the five pavilion bridge of Slender West Lake in Yangzhou). West Lake Park is a classical garden on the lake with good ecological environment in Quanzhou. The architecture of the scenic spot has the local characteristics of Southern Fujian, especially the Erythrina Pavilion in the core scenic spot, which is the landmark of the park with its elegant and simple shape and vast volume.

There are five special gardens in the park, including pine and cypress garden, palm garden and bamboo garden. Thirteen Memorial forests, including "international friendship forest", "International Youth Friendship forest", "youth civilization green garden" and "compulsory planting forest", have been established, with more than 300 plant species in the Park. According to experts, there are more than 30 kinds of birds in the park, especially egrets, pond herons, night herons and herons. The park displays its unique charm to visitors with its beautiful picture scroll of "leisurely misty water, dandanyunshan, extensive fishing boats and leisurely gulls". As a result, it has won many honors such as "China living environment model award", "United Nations Dubai Award", "national greening model unit", "Quanzhou shibajing", "people's favorite Mid Autumn Moon spot" and so on It is one of the highlights of the project, and has achieved good social and environmental benefits.
