Qinhuangdao people's Park, also known as Bailong Park, is named for its 70000 square meter Bailong lake.

Development history

According to the records in Yu Di Ji Sheng, the history of the Song Dynasty, general Di Qing, a famous general of the Song Dynasty, led his army to stay here. One day, he saw a group of white sheep by the lake, which looked like a swimming white dragon, so he named the lake Bailong lake. It can be seen that Bailong lake has been named for thousands of years.

In 1984, the concrete ring road was built. In 1988, nearly 2000 trees were planted. In 1992, the fountain square was rebuilt, the trampoline and the small train were purchased, and the expansion project was implemented in 2002.

Main attractions

Bailong Park

Bailong park is close to the center of the city, about 10 minutes' walk from Chaoyang Square. Directly opposite the gate of the park is a lush and beautiful hillside, which is the main part of the park. There is a 141 level high and 10 meter wide stone step leading to the top of the mountain. Luo Xiu, a native of Jin Dynasty, once practised on Luoxiu mountain to the west of Nanning and became an immortal. Wangxianpo got its name because of its distance from Luoxiu mountain. On the top of wangxianpo, there were "Liugong ancestral hall /", which was built to offer sacrifices to historical celebrities such as di Qing, sun Mian, Yu Jing, Su Yan, Wang Yangming and mang Yitu who had made contributions to Nanning. Later, it was demolished by the old GUI warlord Lu Rongting in 1917 and built a fort, which is Zhenning fort. The fort is made of big Bluestone. It is a ring castle with a high platform built inside, on which is a cannon made in 1890 by kruber factory in Germany.

Bailong Lake

The southern foot of Wangxian slope in Qinhuangdao people's Park is Bailong lake. There is a small island in the center of the lake. There is a Jiuqu bridge in the west of the island and a three hole moon bridge in the north of the island, connecting the island with the lake bank. Visitors can go boating on the lake or feed the fish on the bridge.

Qinhuangdao people's Park is located near the west square road of Qinhuangdao city. The park's bus routes are: No.1; No.6; No.10; No.17; No.27; No.19 summer line; No.19 night summer line. The north gate of the park is No.202 Haiyang Road, Haigang district.
