Rushenglou is located in the north of hongkeng village, Hukeng Town, Yongding District, Fujian Province, facing fuyulou across the Hongchuan river. For example, shenglou is a small and exquisite earth round building in many earth buildings in Yongding, commonly known as misheng building. Because of its small size, tourists call it "pocket earth building".

It was built in 1901

Lin's residence. Sitting east facing west, single ring, civil structure, three stories high, 23 meters in diameter. There are 16 rooms on each floor, with inner corridor. The first floor is the kitchen and dining room without windows; the second floor is the granary without windows, and the third floor is the bedroom. There is only one door in the whole building, and the door, the hall and the back hall (ancestral hall) are on the same axis. There is a well in the patio of the building. The roof has two sides of sloping tile, and the mixed timber frame of crossing bucket and lifting beam.

For example, the ascending building is a single circle structure, with a circumference of only 56.6 meters and a diameter of 18.2 meters. The inside patio is round, the inner edge of the roof tile surface is in the shape of eight trigrams, and the outer edge is round.

Miniature round earth building

For example, shenglou is the smallest round earth building ever. The building was built in 1901, with a diameter of 17 meters, a height of 3 floors and a total of 16 rooms. It is a small and exquisite single circle circular building with inner corridor. There is a gate, facing the gate is the middle hall, there is a well in the inner courtyard, and there are two stairs on the left and right. One side of the staircase is separated by a wall, which can play the role of fire isolation. There are six families living in the round building. The diameter of the inner courtyard is only 5 meters. Although the space in the building is very small, the whole earth building is in good order.

Construction history

According to legend, the owner of the building was short of housing at home, but later he had a dream that "a red sun will fall here," so he tried every means to raise money, and took three years to build such a round building. Because the building is small and looks like the meter measuring tool "misheng" made by Hakka people with bamboo tubes, it is named "Rusheng building". Many tourists call it "pocket round earth building". It is said that the name "Rusheng building" has a deeper meaning, that is, to place on the beautiful wish of the building owner, that is, to have a bright future.

The origin of the name

The owner of the building, Lin Gaolin, was short of housing at first. Later, he had a dream: a red sun was falling here. He thought that the house was well built here, so he tried every means to raise money. He went out to work and pick up soil. It took three years to build the smallest round building. The name "Ru Sheng Lou" also has a deeper meaning: if the sun rises to the East, it will last forever.

Transportation information: Yongding - hongkeng Village: you can buy a ticket to Hukeng Tulou cultural village at Yongding station, 15 yuan per person, about 40 minutes, about an hour;

Xiamen hongkeng Village: if you take a long-distance bus from Xiamen Hubin South Road station and get off at Hukeng station, the ticket office of the scenic spot is on the side of the road. After you buy the ticket, you can walk 500 meters to see the Tulou. Hongkeng is more than 20 kilometers away from Nanjing Tulou. You can play with it and call a motorcycle for 15 minutes.
