Located in truth street, Luliang County. This pagoda was built during the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty (713-741) when the Indian monk ashdodo rebuilt Lingyan temple. It is a solid stone pagoda with a height of 3 meters and a bottom diameter of about 7.5 meters. It has a Xumi type pagoda base and a bowl shaped pagoda body on top. It has 13 layers, big at the bottom and small at the top. Each layer is full of flail seated Buddha statues, so it is called thousand Buddha pagoda. The lower three layers of Buddha statues are carved with lotus sitting and Xiang Guang. The upper layers are reduced to several centimeters in height. They are exquisitely carved, with clear clothing patterns and a kind look. There are more than 800 statues in total. The top of the tower is decorated with two layers of lotus petals, on which there is a lotus seat, and a statue of Buddha with iron casting. The style of the statue is different from that of the stone statue, which is suspected to be a back match. The thousand Buddha pagoda is very famous in Song Dynasty. The poet Fan Chengda said, "the five bridges know the way new today, and the Thousand Buddhas were named old in those days.". It is rare in Sichuan for its peculiar shape and fine carving.
