Wanshou temple tower
Wanshou temple tower forest is located in the West foot of Donglin, Sanji Township, Pingshan County, Hebei Province. Covering an area of 66670 square meters, there are 23 tombs of eminent monks in Wanshou temple, and there are 13 tombs in 2 groups. Among them, the No.2 tower is the tower of crown prince Tianshou of Tang Dynasty, so it is also called the tower group of crown prince of Tang Dynasty.
Construction history
The Pagoda Forest of Wanshou temple is located 100 meters east of Sigou village, Sanji township. Most of the owners of the pagoda are eminent monks of Wanshou temple. The tower group was built in the Tang, song, yuan and Ming Dynasties, with 20 brick towers and 6 stone towers.
There are 13 existing brick pagodas, of which 2 are Tang pagodas. It is said that they are the tombs of the master and apprentice of Prince Tianshou of Tang Dynasty, and 1 is song pagoda. Other buildings belong to yuan and Ming Dynasties. The tower group covers an area of 3500 square meters. The wooden towers are of single-layer single eaves and double-layer double eaves, respectively. The columns, forehead, doors and windows are built on the tower body, and the inscriptions are engraved with exquisite workmanship.
