Yongchang castle, Ming castle, commonly known as the new city. It was built in 1558 (the 37th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty). Located in Yongchang Town, Longwan District, Wenzhou City. In the Ming Dynasty, Wenzhou coastal areas were invaded by Japanese pirates, and Wang Pei and Wang De, the Anti Japanese leaders of Yongqiang, died. Later, brothers Wang Shuguo and Shu Gao initiated the construction of the fort to resist Japanese aggression. The castle is rectangular, 738 meters long from north to south, 445 meters wide from east to west, 2366 meters in circumference, 8 meters high wall, 4 meters wide base. It is built with stones and rammed with earth. The city is surrounded by a moat. There are two canals in the city. The residents live on both sides of the canal, which is quite well. The wall is partially broken. In 1982, the battlements and towers on both sides of the north and South gates were restored. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of the state.
