Jianchi lake is on the side of Qinxi mountain, about 1.5 kilometers south of Longquan City. In ancient times, there were seven wells, such as the star shaped distribution of Beidou. After the Ming Dynasty, Yuyi well still exists today. It is said that during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Ou Yezi, a famous sword maker, forged three swords here, namely "Longyuan", "qin'a" and "Gongbu", and Longquan sword became famous all over the world.
"Taiping Huanyu Ji" of the Northern Song Dynasty said: "in the past, people quenched it with water, and the sword turned into a dragon, so the sword was named Longquan." According to Yi Tong Zhi of the Qing Dynasty, "in the south of Longquan County, Zhejiang Province, there is water called 'Longyuan'. In the Tang Dynasty, it was changed to 'Longquan' instead of taboo by Gaozu (Li Yuan). In the Song Dynasty, it was changed to 'Jianchi Lake'. It is said that ouyezi cast his sword here." Jianchi lake became the symbol of Longquan county. Jianchi pavilion has been rebuilt in the former site of Jianchi, which is a municipal cultural relic protection unit.
