NIUSHOUSHAN Temple Group

The ancient temples in Niushou mountain were first built before the Tang Dynasty. They are divided into two parts: "West Temple" and "East Temple". "Can be with the four Jiuhua, Putuo, moth eyebrow, Wutai Mountain Resort, with its deep", for Shuofang temple. It is the largest ancient Temple group in Ningxia.

Niushou mountain is located on the East Bank of the Yellow River 20 kilometers south of Qingtongxia City, Ningxia. Its main peak is Xiaoxitian (Wenhua peak) and daxitanian (Wuying peak), which stand in the north and south, just like Niushou.

The East Temple group, with jinbaota temple as the center, has 19 temples from east to west, such as Baoan Temple, sheshenya temple and Sleeping Buddha cave; the West Temple group, built according to the mountain situation, is composed of 26 temples, such as Wanfo Pavilion, Jingtu temple and Guanyin hall.

Every year, on March 15 of the lunar calendar, temple fairs, temples and temples are crowded with cigarettes, monks and pilgrims. There are as many as 100000 people who come to visit incense and view the scenery. Climbing mountains and viewing rivers are "big river pottery, bronze locks, winding paths, cloud cliff and purple bamboo forest".

Niushou mountain, spanning Zhongning and Qingtongxia, has a pulse width of about 9 kilometers and a length of about 29 kilometers. It is 1774 meters above sea level. There are two temple groups in the deep mountain, namely, the East Temple group and the West Temple group, with 45 temples standing on the peak. It is located in a beautiful place with pleasant scenery. It is one of the holy places of Buddhism. With the golden pagoda as the center, the East Temple has Dahong temple, Sleeping Buddha cave, Bao'an temple, Guanyin hall, etc. To the west, there are three Buddha Hall, Western mirror, Wuliang hall, Sun Palace, etc. According to the inscriptions, the temples were built in the Tang Dynasty. It was rebuilt in Ming Dynasty. The West Temple is centered on the ten thousand Buddha cave, Sleeping Buddha Hall, Pure Land Temple and three churches, and is built in the valley. The Wuying peak and Wenhua peak of Niushou mountain are just like the majestic head of an ox, with a Jinniu pool on it. There are many statues in the temple.

Niushou mountain "the temple is built with mountains and valleys. It is built with stone walls and logs. It is quite ingenious." The mountains are green in ancient trees, far sighted in Buddhist lanterns, shrouded in Ciyun, hidden or present, with bird's-eye view of the four seasons. The scenery is different. In fact, it is the holy land of Buddhism in the northern desert. In Tang, song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, maintenance was carried out many times. Since the year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, NIUSHOUSHAN temple has been seriously damaged for various reasons. In 1980, believers from all over the country rushed to raise funds for reconstruction. They successively built Buddhist temples on the old site of NIUSHOUSHAN temple, and the East Temple was basically restored.

NIUSHOUSHAN temple has two traditional temple fairs, the 15th of March and the 15th of July in the lunar calendar. Among them, the temple fair on March 15 will be the largest in scale. At that time, there will be an endless stream of people going up to the mountain to burn incense, worship Buddha and sightseeing.
