Former residence of sun Chuanfang

Sun Chuanfang's former residence, built in 1922, is one of the excellent modern buildings. The old house with brick and wood structure is divided into two parts: the front building and the back building. There are four Ionic columns at the entrance of the building facade.

It is now used by the family planning committee of the municipal government and is no longer open to the public.

Sun Chuanfang's former residence is located in miduotu Road, the British concession (now No. 15 Tai'an Road, Heping District). It is a villa style residence, which is also the most luxurious of sun Chuanfang's several houses in Tianjin. Built from 1921 to 1922, there are two buildings, brick and wood structure, six bungalows, covering an area of 3700 square meters, with a total construction area of 2628 square meters. It is composed of main building and auxiliary building.

Introduction to architecture

The main building is a two-story Western-style building with basement, mixed structure, multi slope roof and enclosed corridor. On the right side of the building is the guard and servant's house, and the main building is the children's house. The house is decorated with luxury, harmonious color, simple and elegant.

At the entrance of the main building facade are stone steps with four ionic stone columns. The second floor is a column veranda, with rectangular, circular, clam shaped tiger windows, gentle slope roof, different window shapes, and decorative pavilions in the middle of the roof. It reflects a simple and elegant European eclectic architectural style.

Sun Chuanfang's former residence is now used by Tianjin family planning commission and listed as Tianjin cultural relics protection unit.

Profile

Sun Chuanfang, whose name is Xinyuan, was born in Licheng County, Shandong Province. Born in 1885 (the 11th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty). His family was poor and he lost his father at an early age. His mother was abused by his aunt and couldn't live together. She was forced to go to Jinan with her four children to make a living. Sun Chuanfang has three elder sisters. The eldest sister married Cheng in Shanghe County, and the second sister took the surname Lu in Licheng county. He followed his mother to Shanghe and ate at the Cheng family. It was said that Fang Fang was 10 years old. In 1899, the boxers rose in Shandong Province, and sun Chuanfang took refuge in Jinan with his mother and third sister. Wang yingkai, a member of the law enforcement battalion of the right armed forces of Shandong governor Yuan Shikai, is suitable. His wife is insane. It is said that she married sun Chuanfang's third sister as the second wife and provided for sun Chuanfang's mother and son. At that time, sun Chuanfang was 15 years old. In 1901, Yuan Shikai was promoted to governor of Zhili and transferred to Baoding. Wang yingkai also moved to Baoding with his family and sun's mother and son.
