Xindu Guihu park is located in the western suburb of Xindu County, 18 kilometers away from Chengdu, with an area of 40000 square meters and a water surface of about 20000 square meters. It is the former residence of Yang Sheng'an, a famous scholar in the Ming Dynasty. It gets its name by planting osmanthus around the lake.

Yang Sheng'an, a native of Xindu, the number one scholar in the Ming Dynasty, once planted osmanthus trees along the dike in his garden, so he had Guihu, the new capital. Influenced by it, the osmanthus in Xindu is popular. Around the mid autumn festival every year, the osmanthus is fragrant, and there is an endless stream of tourists visiting the lake, forming the annual osmanthus Festival.

About the park

In the park, there is Sheng'an temple, displaying more than 100 kinds of Yang Sheng'an's works and more than 4000 volumes. Guihu is a small and exquisite lake with willow house, Chengxin Pavilion, fragrant world, anti Autumn Pavilion, Lvyi Pavilion and forest of osmanthus trees. During the Mid Autumn Festival, lotus flowers fill the pond and osmanthus is fragrant. The annual osmanthus Festival is held here.
