Yulong Bridge

Yulong bridge, built in 1412, is a rainbow type single arch stone bridge with staggered joints and dry masonry. The bridge is 36 meters long, 4.2 meters wide and 9 meters high. It is a famous bridge in the history of Guangxi. There is a memorial to the victory of the Anti Japanese war on the bridge deck, which records the historical facts of the villagers' spontaneous and fierce battle with the Japanese aggressors for decades in 1944.

Yulong River is the longest tributary of Lijiang River in Yangshuo, with a total length of 43.5km and a drainage area of 158.47km2. It flows through five townships and more than 20 villages in Yangshuo County, including Jinbao, Putao, Baisha, Yangshuo and Gaotian. It is called "little Lijiang River". It is not that Lijiang River is better than Lijiang River. In particular, from Yulong bridge to Gongnong bridge 15.36 km water, there are 28 weirs, more than 100 scenic spots.

The whole Yulong River scenic area, without any so-called modern buildings, no traces of artificial carving, no urban noise, everything is so primitive, natural, simple and pure, is the largest pure natural landscape garden in Guilin.

If the Lijiang River is compared to a "Lady of a big family", then yulonghe river is a "Jasper of a small family". Experts at home and abroad unanimously confirmed that "Yulong River is the world's first-class natural heritage shared by mankind."

Legend

Once upon a time, the Yulong River was originally called anleshui. There was no bridge on it.

During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, a scholar went to Beijing for an examination. When he came to the river, the "water monster" was making waves. The wind was blowing and the turbid waves were empty. He could not cross the river. He sighed, "this life is over!" Just at this time, a woman passed by the river. When she learned the whole story, she felt pity and wanted to help.

She made the scholar shut up in the shade of the tree. Fly to the East China Sea and invite the Dragon King and the eight immortals. The Dragon King led the shrimp soldiers and crab generals to cooperate with the eight immortals to kill the demons and demons. After hundreds of rounds of war, they returned home with victory. From then on, the level of peace and contentment calmed down.

Strange to say, at the same time, a golden arch bridge appeared on the river to let the scholar cross the river. The scholar didn't know that this woman, who had the appearance of sinking fish and falling geese, was the daughter of the Dragon King. She came here and met the scholar by chance. The scholar was grateful, so a couple of talented and beautiful lovers made a vow, hoping to get married for a hundred years.

Soon, the scholar won the first place in the imperial examination. Three years later, he saw the dispute over imperial power and resigned. She married Longnu by building a house beside the Anle River and lived a pastoral life. In order to feel the favor of "dragon", the scholar invited ninety-nine skilled craftsmen and spent ninety-nine days building a magnificent, beautiful, strong and durable stone arch bridge with 9999 local marbles, named "Yulong bridge". Therefore, Anshui was renamed Yulong River.

The place where they lived was called Yulong village. The Qifeng mountain in Yulong village is the place where the Dragon girl turns into Yufeng and looks forward to the return of scholars. The lovers mountain in the lower reaches of the river is the witness of their close embrace and never separation.

Landscape features

Yulong bridge, also known as Huilong bridge, is located in Baisha Town, Yangshuo County, Yulong village and Yulong River. The shape is magnificent, simple and beautiful, with national characteristics.

Yulong River is a beautiful river, especially below Yulong bridge to Heshan River estuary where Jinbao river meets. In this section of about 12 km, with towering peaks and scattered villages, you can enjoy the Yulong bridge, rhinoceros watching the moon, Chuanshan ancient village, Guiyi city ruins, Lizhi mountain, Shuangliu ferry, horse flying and other scenic spots, which is another beautiful scenery in Yangshuo.

The railings on both sides of Yulong bridge are full of vines, and the green vines are leisurely in the bridge cave, like the curtain made of green stones, which makes the ancient stone bridge more quiet and simple. Under the bridge, ducks are playing in the shallow water. The scene of "white hair floating in the green water, red palms stirring in the clear waves" adds some poetic and picturesque flavor to this picture of dragon bridge.

Transportation guide

1. Take Yangshuo Jinbao minibus at Yangshuo bus station (in the direction of Baisha Town) and get off at Yulong village. The ticket price is 5 yuan / person.

2. It takes about 2 hours to ride a bicycle up the Yulong River from Yangshuo.

3. Rent a car to yulongqiao, about 15 minutes, 40-50 yuan / car (less than 7 seats).

4. You can also take a minibus to Jinbao at Yangshuo bus station and get off at Jinlong bridge. You can start drifting from Jinlong bridge.
