Heimahe Township

Located in the southwest of Qinghai Lake, Heimahe township is the starting point of the West Road around Qinghai Lake. From here, along the West Road around Qinghai Lake, you can continue to walk 70km northward and pass shinaihai Township, which is the famous Bird Island Scenic spot. The 41km West Huanhu road from Heimahe township to shinaihai township is the most beautiful section of Qinghai Lake. The 13-16km West Huanhu road is the closest point to the lake. Heimahe Township

Hei Ma He Xiang, located in the northwest of Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is 148 kilometers away from the county seat. Population 4860 (2017). Covering an area of 1156.79 square kilometers, it governs four animal husbandry committees, namely jiabulong, zhihequhu, wenbadi and ranquhu.

In 1953, it was changed into Heimahe Township, in 1968 it was changed into Heimahe commune, and in 1984 it was renamed Heimahe township. There are 4-5 buses to Wulan county at Jianguo Road bus station in Xining every day. On the way, you can get off at Heimahe township. Xining Heimahe Township takes about 4 hours.

Tourist attractions

Heima river is located on the edge of Qinghai Lake, about 220 kilometers west of Xining. It is the starting point of the road around Qinghai Lake. 78 kilometers along the road around Qinghai Lake is the famous bird island. The section from Heima River to bird island is also known as the West Road around Qinghai Lake. Many "mob" donkeys or cyclists choose to start their dream journey around Qinghai Lake from Heima river.

There is no accommodation near the Heima river. You can stay in the traffic hostel at the fork of the Qinghai Tibet highway and the ring road. The best three person hotel is 30 yuan / bed. You can walk for half an hour to the jihaitai by the lake or stay in some small hotels run by Tibetan people in the town.

Restaurant

Qinghai Lake is rich in yellow carps, also known as naked carp. Many restaurants in Heima River sell fresh yellow carps. However, due to the sharp decline in the number in recent years, the local government has banned them. Therefore, it is better not to eat them. In some small restaurants in the town, you can eat chicken soup stewed with prairie mushrooms. It tastes delicious and the price is reasonable.

In addition to self driving, full cycling or even more extreme hiking around the lake, charter tour is the best way for tourists to get to Heimahe township. Public transportation

There are 4-5 buses to Wulan county at Jianguo Road bus station in Xining every day. On the way, you can get off at Heimahe township. Xining Heimahe Township takes about 4 hours.

Traffic information: there is no direct bus from Xining to Heimahe

1. You can take a shuttle bus to Wulan county or Chaka town. It's about 4 hours' drive and the fare is 40 yuan / person

2. You can also take Xiwa express, which departs from Xining long distance bus station at 8:30 in the morning. The fare is 42 yuan per person. At about 9:00 the next day, there was a car from wayu to Xining. The train passes through Riyue mountain, Daotang River and 151 base. There is a green bus from Heimahe township to shinaihai township.
