Qinglong waterfall, now renamed Wanzhou waterfall, is located in Ganning river section, Ganning Town, Wanzhou District, Chongqing. It is the most famous waterfall in Asia. Tomb of Ganning

After Ganning died in battle, he was buried in his hometown. However, because he was from Shu, he served in Wu, and because he died in the Yiling war, which led to the death of Liu Bei, Emperor zhaolie of the Shu Han Dynasty, the people were afraid of being implicated, so they hid their names in other places to avoid disaster.

Although the local people respected Gan Ning Zhongyong, they did not dare to publicize him, so they only built a mound grave for him here secretly, and they did not dare to build a monument. It was not until 1932, when Du Jieshan, a local teacher, rebuilt his tomb, that two steles were erected for him in front of the tomb and at the head of the new Qinglong River Bridge. The inscriptions were respectively "Tomb of the great general Ganning" and "hometown of Ganning, the governor of general Wu Zhechong's Xiling". During the cultural revolution, the tombs of Ganning were destroyed, and the two steles were smashed into several pieces and lost to the people. Today, in memory of him, the people of his hometown are preparing to rebuild the tomb of Ganning in the scenic area for later generations to tell the story of the Three Kingdoms and reflect on the ancient love.

He Qifang's former residence

The former residence of He Qifang in the scenic area is another shining point! He Qifang (1912-1977) is one of the most important figures in the history of modern Chinese literature, a famous poet, essayist and literary critic. He once served as the director of the Institute of literature of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the editorial board member of people's literature, edited people's literature, literature research and literature review, and wrote and published a number of literature and literature review books.

Geology and geomorphology

Qinglong Waterfall Scenic Spot is located in the combination of East Sichuan fold belt and Sichuan Hubei Hunan Guizhou Uplift fold belt in the third subsidence zone of Xinhua Xiamen system. Its geology is complex. The geological age of exposed strata can be seen in Mesozoic Triassic and Jurassic. The scenic spot has various landforms. It is a mountainous area with heavy hills. The mountain body is a strip-shaped monoclinic terrain, with thick hard sandstone development area and steep cliffs. The altitude in the area is about 280m ~ 670m. Qinglong river runs through the whole area, with many mountain streams and few vegetation. Occasionally, there are cut and broken platforms.

It is characterized by fog, hot summer and frequent summer drought, early spring, rapid and unstable temperature rise, long autumn and continuous rain. The annual average temperature is 17.7 ℃, the annual average precipitation is 1293.3 mm, the annual average sunshine is 1204.5 hours, the annual average absolute humidity is 17.6 mm, and the relative humidity is 81%.

The inner diameter flow of the scenic spot is 75 km in total, of which the main flow of Qinglong river is 12 km, with a drainage area of 35 square kilometers. There are four large reservoirs in the scenic spot, namely Hongqi, Guanfeng, jinzhugou and Liujiawan, and 4412 shanpingtang, with a total water storage of more than 7.7 million cubic meters, providing good water resources for Qinglong waterfall.

There are 505 species of arbors and shrubs in 99 families, 225 genera in the scenic area. Pinus massoniana accounted for more than 90% of the trees, followed by cypress accounted for 5%, and there were some small pieces of mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests such as Cunninghamia lanceolata, Cryptomeria fortunei, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Liquidambar formosana and Quercus. There are also scattered camphor, Phoebe, Bauhinia, red bean, silver and other precious tree species in the scenic area.
