It is located in the west of Jixi, about 34 kilometers away from the county seat and 5 kilometers away from Shangzhuang. The Shi clan in the village is the descendant of Shi Shouxin, the founder of the Northern Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, the Shi family also made great contributions. The whole village roadway is neat and square, intersecting vertically and horizontally, straight and symmetrical, like chess grid. It is said that emperor Zhao Kuangyin was fond of playing chess and often played against Shi Shouxin in the Imperial Palace, so people built Qipan village to commemorate their ancestors.
