Huang Xingdao

Huangxing island belongs to Dongji Town, Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. Because most of the surface of the island is loess, it looks yellow from the southeast sea. According to local legend, the ancestors of the Huang family, who first came here to settle down, hoped for the prosperity of the descendants on the island, so they named it. The island once governed four villages, miao'ao, Moli, Nan'ao and taoshukeng. Now it is almost an empty island. However, it is about to open up two scenic spots, Longtou Bay in the north and haihairenjia in the Midwest. The only mariculture farm in Dongji town is located here.

A group of fishermen in Zhoushan especially love Huangxing island. They call it "geomantic treasure land" and "dream fishing ground for sea bream". In addition, Daqingshan and xiaoqingshan near the island are rare fishing spots.

In 2004 and 2005, through several rock fishing events, Huangxing island was accepted by the domestic and foreign fishing circles, and gradually formed one of the important large-scale rock fishing events bases in Putuo District and even Zhoushan City. It established the reputation of "Zhoushan sea fishing to see the East pole, East pole sea fishing to see Huangxing".

Geography

Huangxing Island, once known as Huangxing Island, is located 42.9 kilometers northeast of Shenjiamen Town, near miaozihu island in the East. It is a long shape with a north-south trend, 3.4 km long and 1.45 km wide, with a land area of 2.44 square kilometers and hills. The coastline is 11.6 km long, all of which are base banks. The highest point is Pinggang mountain in the north, 207.1 meters above sea level.

Huangxing island was inhabited during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It was engaged in farming and fishing at sea. In history, except for Huangxing Township, which was established in 1954-1960 and 1963-1992, the rest was under the jurisdiction of Dongji township (commune).
