Fuchuan ancient city

Fuchuan ancient Ming City is one of the more complete ancient county city sites in Guangxi. The city was built in 1396, the 29th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. The city is symmetrical with a "ten" frame. The streets are paved with cobblestones, inlaid with money patterns symbolizing wealth and wealth, and the sun patterns symbolizing happiness and brightness. Originally, there were four entrances and exits in the southeast and northwest.

The famous Xiaohe ancient road enters from the north gate and exits from the south gate. Each gate is made of 831 to 896 neat and smooth big green stones. On the top of each gate, there are towers, carved railings and cornices, which are solid and magnificent. At present, there are only east gate, South Gate and north gate.

But for many years, due to lack of funds and various reasons, many buildings in ancient Ming City have not been effectively maintained, and cultural relics and historic sites have been constantly damaged.

Development history

For hundreds of years, the three gates in the East, South and North, the Confucian temple, the martial temple, the 11 cobblestone flower streets, the ancient stage, the lamp house, the ancient well, the ancient dwellings and most of the city walls and some of the moats in the city are basically well preserved. In 1994, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in the autonomous region. For many years, due to the lack of funds and various reasons, many buildings in ancient Ming City have not been effectively maintained, and cultural relics and historic sites have been constantly damaged. The most seriously damaged site is the expansion site of Fuchuan high school sports ground, located on the west side of Guming city. According to the survey and mapping of the cultural relics administration department, the ancient city wall with a history of more than 600 years was destroyed, with a total of 82.5 meters, and the moat was also destroyed.

The 16 mu ximentang used for fire water storage in the ancient city has been filled up. Fuchuan primary school, located in the County Yamen in the southwest of the ancient Ming City, has reached the root of the ancient city wall. The 800 square meter infectious disease prevention and control building of Fuchuan County People's hospital is under construction at the South Gate of Guming city. The hospital plans to build a 9-storey hospital complex in the city. These modern buildings will destroy the style of the ancient city.
