Xuhai prairie

Xuhai village is located in the east of Mudan Township, bordering on the Pacific Ocean. It is a small village on the east coast of Pingtung. Most of the local residents belong to the Paiwan aborigines, and mainly produce in agriculture and animal husbandry. The whole Xuhai village is green and green, with the vast Pacific Ocean, endless Xuhai prairie and abundant Xuhai hot spring, as well as the tranquility and serenity of living alone.

Xuhai prairie, also known as "Zhongzheng prairie", is located on heidu mountain, with an altitude of more than 300 meters and an area of 300 hectares. It extends eastward to the coast. Due to the wind of the sea, the grass is green all the year round. There is a natural pool in the middle of the grassland, where cattle and sheep can drink. Cattle and sheep can be seen everywhere on the grass slope by the pool. The pastoral scenery is very leisurely. However, the "Zhongzheng prairie" was under military control, so the local residents developed another smaller grassland, also named Xuhai prairie, which is located in the northeast of Xuhai village and the south foot of mudanbi mountain. It takes about 40 minutes to enter from the entrance to the north of the bus terminus. In the meantime, there are dense shrubs, and the grassland is just a supporting role. However, overlooking the semicircular peony Bay, the landscape is charming.

Xuhai hot spring

Located beside Xuhai elementary school on 199 County Road, it is an alkaline carbonated spring. The water temperature is about 43.5 degrees centigrade. The pure and peaceful Xuhai village is a place worth visiting, especially at sunrise and sunset. In June and July, the grassland is decorated with purple and red wild peonies, which are more interesting in the green.
