Relying on the former site of weitaihou, a famous ticket shop founded in 1826, the museum collects a large number of historical materials and objects, including weifenghou, weishengchang, tianchengheng and xintaihou, which are known as "Wei" Wulian. Weitaihou museum is located in Pingyao, Shanxi Province. It is developed from weitaihou ticketing house. Taihou ticketing house is the second largest ticketing house in China after Rishengchang ticketing house. The general address is only a wall away from Rishengchang. The scale and pattern are almost the same. Pingyao ancient city was built for these ticket houses in those years. Development history

Weitaihou was originally a silk shop run by Hou family of Jiexiu. After seeing Rishengchang's business changed from pigment shop to ticket shop, Hou family was very envious, but no one could manage the ticket shop. At this time, Mao Hongzhen, deputy manager of Rishengchang, disagreed with Lei Lutai, manager of Rishengchang. Mao Hongzhen was excluded, and Hou took the opportunity to pull him over.

In 1834, weitaihou was officially changed into a draft shop, and four commercial houses, weifenghou, weishengchang, tianchengheng and xintaihou, were reorganized and operated as draft shops. The monopoly situation of Rishengchang was broken, and fierce competition between the two major draft shop factions appeared. Since then, China's ticket industry has developed rapidly from Pingyao to Qixian and Taigu, and from Shanxi to the whole country.

Weitaihou has now been transformed into a ticket office Museum.

architectural composition

The museum is a traditional three-way shop yard, with 40 brick and wood structure houses, which is divided into three exhibition areas of strategy, management and figures, and 18 exhibition rooms.
