In July 1947, archaeologist Pei Wenzhong discovered guatai mountain as the site of prehistoric human activities in sanyangchuan along the Weihe River. During the national cultural relics survey in the 1980s, it was found that the ancient cultural accumulation layer of guatai mountain is 0.2-0.5 meters thick. On the cliff, there are ash layer, ash pit, ash living surface, ash residue and other relics. More than 50 pieces of stone tools, pottery, bone ware, etc. were unearthed. After identification, they are more than 5000 years old. In September 2002, the "Gansu investigation team" sent by the project implementation Department of the Secretariat of the "Chinese link" project Organizing Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, when selecting the site of the "Chinese ancestor worship base", inspected guatai mountain and submitted an investigation report "During the investigation, we found in the Fuxi Temple site and the sacrificial pit of guatai mountain the sacrificial objects of ancient Chinese ancestors since the pre Qin period, as well as the sacrificial objects symbolizing the Chinese ancestors -- the largest, oldest and best preserved stone ancestor in China (stone male genitalia, about 5000-6000 years ago), which is the time of patriarchy of the Chinese nation It's a symbol of generation. The famous archaeologist specially invited by the investigation team said that after decades of archaeological work and numerous archaeological excavations, it is rare to see archaeological sites with such dense cultural accumulation and complete ages. By combing word-of-mouth data and on-site exploration, we believe that guatai mountain area is likely to be the place for ancestors' sacrifice 8000 years ago.

Fuxi Temple

Fuxi temple was originally built in guatai mountain, including theater tower, archway, Meridian Gate, bell tower, Drum Tower, main hall, court room and other houses. A stone tablet of "Fuxi temple in Chengji County, Qinzhou" with a seal script on the mountain is a relic of the Song Dynasty. In addition, in the 10th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1531 A.D.), it started on February 20 and was completed on June 28. The imperial censor Fang Gong ordered gongchang and Lintao to build a stone tablet of Fuxi temple. The first monument is 1.3 meters long, 0.7 meters wide and 0.20 meters thick. The wood engraving plate of "Fuxi 64 Gua 28 Suquan Tu" in guatai mountain is also preserved. On the front side, the figure and characters of eight trigrams are engraved in the sun. The diameter of eight trigrams is 0.64 meters, and on the back side, the 12 characters of "Fuxi 64 Gua 28 Suquan Tu" are engraved in the sun.

Fuxi Temple
