Located 6 kilometers to the east of Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, the majestic DianAn tower stands on the top of Bagong rock, a steep rock formed by the intersection of Huangyang River and Hanjiang River. It was built in 1917. The tower is divided into seven levels. It is about 30 meters high and faces the West. On the first floor, a stone gate facing the urban area is inlaid with a regular script plaque of "dieanta" engraved on blue stone. The name of the pagoda means "Chang'an Yongkang, laying a foundation for the grand base". It is said that this tower was built for the sake of the town's health and the local atmosphere, as well as the scenery of Jinzhou.

General situation

DianAn tower is located in Ankang, on the South Bank of the middle reaches of the surging river. About 5 kilometers to the east of the city, there is yesterday's "Bagong cliff" near the river. On the top of the cliff stands a beautiful and magnificent seven level tower, which is DianAn tower. The tower has a height of 30 meters, a bottom diameter of 6 meters and a total area of 36 square meters. According to the inscription, it was rebuilt in the Republic of China. The tower is a loft style brick tower, with the three words "diean tower" on its forehead, and some interesting inscriptions such as "yongdieankang", "konglinggu", "Fu hougaoming" and "Zhongtian Yizhu" on its body. The tower is empty in the center, overlooking the elegant mountains and rivers, the flying boats on the river, the city of louyulin, and the surrounding villa with smoke curling from the kitchen. The legend is even more interesting.

Beautiful legend

It is said that in some Dynasty, there was an emperor who was greedy for pleasure. He ignored the government all day, went to three palaces and six courtyards, ate, drank and spent money like dirt, which split the country. When there was a severe drought, there was no harvest in the field, hungry people were everywhere, and the people were in dire straits. At this time, Hun Jun not only didn't understand the people's situation, but also gave relief to the people. On the contrary, he stepped up his efforts and claimed money from the people. The hungry people can't bear it, and they rise one after another. This startled the Jade Emperor in the sky. The jade emperor turned the HunJun into a black dragon and punished him to cultivate himself under the Bagong cliff of Zhangtan Township in Ankang, in order to redeem the crime of harming the people.

The black dragon was trapped in the Black Dragon Cave, not only did not change, but often made waves. Every rainy season, it lies across the Hanjiang River, blocking the river, inundating farmhouses, washing away livestock, endangering the mountain city. I don't know how many years have passed, and I don't know how many fish boats there are. The boatman is buried in the belly of the evil dragon. How many brave people, wielding swords and jumping horses, want to kill the dragon, but they are weak and have no ambition, and finally enter the dragon's mouth. Later, people had to build temples for it and burn incense. Every year, on the second day of February, it is the day when it rises to do evil and harm the living beings. In order to get peace, the people selected beautiful boys and girls and threw them into the river to worship evil dragons on this day. There are children and women merchants in the city. People are afraid that their relatives will be selected and flee to other places. A prosperous mountain city is gradually neglected.

Later, a travelling alchemist came here with a black umbrella on his shoulder and a shining sword on his back. He was very angry when he asked about it. He stood on the Bank of the river, reciting the mantra. In an instant, the black clouds rolled, the wind roared and the waves splashed. The black dragon sprang out of the water, wagged his head and tail, and stormed at the alchemist. The alchemist used the sword technique of plucking out his heart and liver. The black dragon's unique skill of shining Aconitum and wagging his tail made both sides shine in the sky and fight back to the river. At this time, the alchemist sold a flaw and made a black umbrella. A chain flew out of the umbrella and went straight to the black dragon. Seeing this, the black dragon fled back to the cave and closed the door. The alchemist knocked on the cave door again and again, but the black dragon couldn't come out. It knows that this chain is called "entangled dragon rope". If it is entangled, it will be tighter and tighter until it is strangled.

When the alchemist saw that the black dragon could not get out of the cave, he called the public to discuss and immediately built a Zhenlong pagoda on Bagong cliff. Whenever the sun rises, the sun shines through the hole of the tower and casts the shadow of the tower on the river, like a "dragon rope", which locks the surface of the river. When the black dragon came out of the cave, he saw the shadow and thought it was a dragon rope, so he didn't dare to come out of the cave any more. From then on, peace and tranquility prevailed. I wish Xing'an Prefecture An Tai Kang Ning, so it is renamed An Kang. The Zhenlong pagoda is also named DianAn pagoda.

Viewing introduction

Through the stairs inside the tower, visitors can climb step by step. There are round or arched door openings on the upper six floors, from which you can enjoy the different beauty of the four sides. On the four walls of the tower on the fourth floor, there are 16 characters in regular script, which are inlaid with colored porcelain: "broad, thick and wise, a pillar in the middle heaven, forever laying a foundation for health, also strengthening the hole". At the top of the tower, there are colorful lotus seats with two 3000 Jin copper balls. The seven eaves of DianAn tower are decorated with brick and stone reliefs, with distinct patterns and different images. The top eaves are outstretched, which has the potential of spreading wings and flying clouds.

From afar, diananta stands high on the high mountain and rock. It is sacred and powerful, just like a warrior, guarding the gate of Ankang East loyally. When you climb on it, you can enjoy the green water, green mountains and the shadow of the sky tower. There are many boats on the river, and there are many tall buildings in the city. It can be said that "there is no limit to the scenery of the rivers and mountains, and they all gather in a tower."

Site selection factors

It is said that there are two factors in choosing the place where the Huangyang River enters the river to build a tower on Bagong rock. One is that Fengshui here is not good, no wealth, no high-ranking officials, no change; the second is that the Hanjiang River often floods, and the confluence of Huangyang River intensifies, which brings great disaster to people's lives and property. There is a dragon hidden at the bottom of the river. The flood disaster was caused by this dragon. The tower was built to suppress the dragon. According to the above legends and the names of the big donators on the inscriptions on the tower, the construction of the tower has no religious significance, and is the product of the joint operation of the local rich families and celebrities. But it can't be belittled for its excellent ornament of city appearance and its charm of ancient architecture art.
