Introduction to the library

In 1978, under the guidance of the former Jilin Provincial Association for science and technology, Tongliao City and Tongliao county respectively established science and technology museums, both of which have their own venues. In 1986, Tongliao City and Tongliao County merged, so the two science and technology museums merged into Tongliao science and Technology Museum.

Tongliao science and Technology Museum is designed according to the function of county-level science and Technology Museum, with a three-story structure and a usable area of 4000 square meters. There are reading room, library, lecture room (and film, video, exhibition and teaching), darkroom.

It has a collection of over 13000 books. The collection of books is mainly based on basic theories, popular science books and reference books. The library is equipped with a set of semi mechanized bookshelves, which can hold 50000 books.

The lecture room can accommodate 100 people, equipped with film, video, projector and other equipment.

The museum has a science and education film team, a science popularization vehicle, a science and technology Gallery, a rural science and Technology Library, a rural correspondence university counseling Station and a science and technology service department, which are used for science popularization, education and comprehensive services for industries, mines, schools, towns and villages.
