Jiufeng Mountain, located in the south of Nanping City, is the first mountain at the starting point of Minjiang River, facing the urban area across the Xixi River. Because the nine peaks overlap here, ranking first among the peaks around the city, it is named. The mountain environment is quiet and the trees are gloomy. In the mountains, there are eight ancient landscapes in Nanping, such as "Jiufeng yuelang" and "ape cave autumn wind". Li Dong and Zhu Xi, famous scholars of Song Dynasty, once gave lectures here, praising Jiufeng scenery as "nine lotus flowers" and "nine fold green screen".

The tomb of Chen Youliang built at the end of the Yuan Dynasty is still visible. The West Tower, one of the Yanping twin towers built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, also stands intact on Jiufeng Mountain. There were Yanping academy, Jianxi thatched cottage, Wanfu Qingshe, Tianqing Pavilion and other buildings in the mountain, which were destroyed by the war.

In 1978, the Nanping Municipal government decided to turn Jiufeng Mountain into a comprehensive park. It has invested millions of yuan and planted nearly 100000 trees. It has built 13 pavilions and flower beds, including youxiangyuan, Tianqing Pavilion, Cuiyun Pavilion, Lingyun Pavilion, Lengfeng Pavilion and yudequan. It has also set up a zoo, children's playground, culture and History Museum and teahouse. In order to facilitate tourists to enjoy the scenery in Jiufeng Mountain, a suspension pedestrian bridge across Min River was built between Jiufeng Mountain and the city in 1984. With a total length of 325 meters, a main span of 200 meters and a cable tower of 43.2 meters high, the bridge was the first suspension bridge pier across the Minjiang River in our province and the longest cable-stayed bridge in China at that time.

Its terrain is dangerous and commanding, but it can be attacked and defended by danger. It has always been a place for military strategists, leaving many moving revolutionary stories here. Zheng Chenggong, Wen Tianxiang, Huang Chao, Peng Dehuai and other famous generals all left their footprints here. In 1933, the workers' and peasants' red army besieged Nanping and launched an uprising against Chiang Kai Shek in Fujian, fighting for the occupation of Jiufeng Mountain.

In order to remember the revolutionary martyrs, Nanping Municipal People's government raised funds to build the monument to the revolutionary martyrs in Jiufeng Mountain in 1989 and the monument to the establishment of the Fujian Zhejiang Jiangxi people's guerrillas in 1994, which enriched the red tourism resources of our city. Jiufengshan Revolutionary Martyrs Monument was also determined as the city's patriotic education base by the municipal Party committee and government.

At present, Jiufengshan Fujian Zhejiang Jiangxi people's guerrilla foundation monument, Yanping District Wangtai town bajiaolou site, Shangxi reorganization site, Songxi County luxiaqiao riot site, Jianou city chengguanxu Wuli CPC Minbei temporary committee site, etc. constitute a strong red tourism route launched by Nanping City.
