Batang hot water ditch is located in the hot water ditch in the south of Batang township government, 45 kilometers away from Jiegu Town, Yushu County, with an altitude of about 3900 meters. It is named for its many hot springs.

General situation

The hot water valley in Batang has a beautiful scenery with winding paths, luxuriant plants and numerous wild animals. There are many hot springs in the valley, which are rich in many trace elements. On both sides of the gully, the mountains fluctuate, and there are dense cypress, Salix tomentosa, Rhododendron bailide and other plateau tree species. In spring and summer, mountain flowers are blooming, birds are singing, green and quiet, and the scenery is pleasant. It also inhabits such rare animals as red deer, rock sheep, Tibetan antelope, snow chicken and musk deer. The clear Zangqu river meanders along the ditch with the hot spring mist. The hot spring water that can be used for bathing and treating diseases is clear and transparent. Dozens of springs are boiling and steaming, and the fog is very spectacular. Different temperatures of hot spring pool can cure various diseases, and it has special curative effect on various skin diseases, stomach diseases and rheumatic diseases, so it enjoys a good reputation in Kangqu district. In summer and autumn, Yushu and its surrounding areas are filled with tents for recuperators.

history

When the ninth Panchen Lama returned to Tibet from the mainland in 1937 and passed Yushu, he bathed here and recuperated for nearly a month. According to relevant written records, Batang hot water ditch hot spring has a long history of treating diseases. On the stones of each spring pool, there are Tibetan inscriptions of the therapeutic function of the spring eye, some of which are clearly recognizable, some of which are weathered and illegible.

According to the analysis of hot spring water quality by relevant departments, the water is rich in more than 50 kinds of trace elements necessary for human health and development, which is rare high-quality and pollution-free drinking mineral water in China. It has special curative effect on cardiovascular, blood and nervous system diseases, especially skin diseases, digestive system diseases and rheumatic diseases.
