But the soldiers dug three days before they dug three feet deep. The bottom was full of stones. One day, Zheng Chenggong inspected the barracks. He heard that the soldiers could not dig a well when they met a big stone. He said sternly, "I'm afraid of a few stones. I'm afraid of the Qing army? Are you afraid of Hongyi After that, he drew out his sword and yelled, "what are the stones to be afraid of?" Raise your sword and cleave to the stone. Just listen to the "boom", the rock cracked, gushing clear spring water. The soldiers called the well "sword spring".

After signing the Treaty of Shimonoseki, Lin Henian returned to Gulangyu to settle down. When he saw Jianquan, he immediately wrote a poem "Zheng Yanping Wangjing": the sea is dry and the rocks are rotten. He can see Dongming through many vicissitudes. Only the mountain spring is still good and the moon is still shining.
