Princess Bridge

Kangding is a city with many bridges. In ancient times, there was a saying of "eight bridges city". Today, the old princess bridge on the zhedo river is located in the south of the city. There are many rumors about this bridge, among which the most well-known one is that it was built by the marriage of Princess Wencheng and Songzanganbu. But in fact, Princess Wencheng went to Tibet by way of Qingzang Road, and people believe in the legend of Kangding Princess bridge. Kangding, the throat of Sichuan Tibet highway, has been the only way for the Tibetan and Han "tea horse mutual market" since ancient times. The 18th army of the people's Liberation Army bravely crossed Princess bridge to march into Tibet. Princess bridge is a historical witness of the unity of Tibetan and Han.

There is no written record of the time when Princess bridge was built, but according to the historical circumstantial evidence of Kangding's urban development, this bridge will never be before Qianlong, because in the 41st year of Qianlong's reign, five colors of the sea burst into the old city of Kangding. Therefore, the bridge should have been built in the late Qing Dynasty.

Princess bridge is a stone arch bridge, towering over the roaring zhedo river. However, due to years of wind and rain erosion, especially after liberation, a new highway bridge was built on the upstream of the old bridge, and the princess bridge gradually declined. At the end of 1997, the old princess bridge was restored. The bridge railings were painted with bright red, and the patterns and patterns with strong national flavor were painted. The dragon on the top of the arch bridge was painted with the dragon head and dragon tail. The princess bridge was rejuvenated. Now, standing on the princess bridge, you can look to the west at the silvery snow peak under the blue sky; to the East, you can see the wonderful scenery of Guo Dashan surrounded by clouds and fog, which makes you stop at yaxingduntian.
