The wind shelter is on the west side of Penglai Pavilion. It is worth mentioning that the design of the wind shelter is unique. You can hardly feel the wind from any place in the room. It is very quiet. There are also inscriptions of literati in the pavilion. Those who like history and art should not miss them.

There is a Penglai Pavilion on the top of Danya mountain in Penglai County, Shandong Province. There is a shelter on the west side of it. It was built in the eighth year of Zhengde of Ming Dynasty (1513 AD). At the beginning, this pavilion was built mainly to watch mirage, so it is also called "Haishi Pavilion".

The shelter is a very peculiar building. It faces the vast sea and stands on the steep cliff. There are no windows on three sides, but the doors and windows on the north side of the sea are all open. But no matter what wind blows outside or how strong the wind is, I can only hear "the wind is all over the building" inside the pavilion, but I can't feel the wind at all. Many curious tourists come here and have to experiment with them. The smoke from burning paper went straight up to the roof, and the paper didn't shake at all. People are full of praise for this, but they don't know why. It turns out that the north side of the pavilion is a high wall, which is half the height of the pavilion. In addition, the wall is curved. When the north wind blows to the curved wall, a strong air flow rises sharply, flying over the ridge of the pavilion and going south, and there is no wind in the pavilion. In addition, the pavilion has walls on the East, West and south sides, and only the north side has doors and windows, so the air can't convection. Therefore, even if the doors and windows are open, the sea breeze is blowing Roar, the pavilion also motionless, candlelight is not surprised. Inside the pavilion, there is a stone carving of Guanhai City poem written by Yuan Keli, governor of Denglai of Ming Dynasty. It is an important document to record Haishi city and add color to the sea and sky.
