The headquarters of the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the people's Republic of China is located on the Nanwan road in Macao. The main gate faces the Nanwan lake. It is composed of three buildings and gardens, covering an area of about 7700 square meters, with a total construction area of about 10000 square meters.

Historical evolution

The front seat of the government headquarters of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the people's Republic of China was built in 1849. In 1881, the then governor of Macao, jasala, bought it for 21 thousand Macao dollars as his official residence, and later became the office of several local heads of Macao and Portugal.

After the establishment of the government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the people's Republic of China in 1999, the buildings were restored. The renovation project roughly retains the original style of the building.

On the second floor, there are the chief executive's office, the Executive Council Secretariat and green, yellow and blue halls for reception and banquet.

On October 19 and 20, 2019, the government headquarters of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the people's Republic of China will be open to the public. The public can visit the concierge building and the garden. During the opening day, there will be theme flower exhibition, photo exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, band and dance performance.
